December Fun

We had an awesome week in First Grade! On Monday we decorated gingerbread houses.  I love how first graders get more frosting on their faces than on the houses! We had a classroom elf named Flash that did some pretty silly things.  We ended the week with Polar Express Day.  The kids looked so cute in their p.j.'s.  We watched Polar Express, had hot cocoa, and left with a "Believe Ticket" and sleigh bell!

Trying to escape?

Reading to friends.

Where does he think he's going?

Gingerbread Week

It was all about gingerbread this week!  We read 5 different versions of The Gingerbread Man and voted on our favorite.  The Gingerbread Girl won!  We made gingerbread men out of shapes and graphed how many shapes we used.  We learned a coral reading of Four Little Gingerbread Men.  We finished our fun on Friday by making real gingerbread men and taking one bite.  We graphed which body part we bit first.  The legs won!  Check out the pictures below to see some of the activities.
